Don't just say the first animal that comes to mind - think a bit  .
For me some aquatic creature, perhaps a giant otter in the amazon or maybe a strange insect.

Really, a common house dog, they are pampered, taken complete care of and loved all day.
In a more adventurous life I'd like to be lion, tiger, spider monkey, blue whale, peregrine falcon, but a dolphin would have to be my number 1 choice.
Random Question:
Do you think turtles or tortoises are bothered by their slow pace, always being a hurry to get where they are going but frustrated by their lack of speed, or they enjoy their time, and go slow because it's more relaxed?

I'd have to go with puffer fish, as weird as that sounds. I'd be poisonous enough to kill anything that tried to eat me (including humans), I would have jaws and teeth capable of biting off a human finger (or toe), could puff up to 3x my size, and I'd be pretty damn intelligent... for a fish. That'd be pretty sweet.

With regards to the house dog that is true, but what about being abused by your owner? You merely are looking on the light side of things.
Turtles and tortoises I don't think would be bothered by their pace..animals in ways have a much better understanding of life than humans do in my opinion.
You live it, thats about all there is. You will die, but it is a static occurrence. I mean..personally as an animal in the wild I don't think i'd really worry about death or anything. Of course theres the natural instinct of fighting to the end and survival, but ultimately it would be completely natural as opposed to the deaths humans experience and fear.
The tortoise question also makes me wonder about the concept of time possessed by other organisms. Does a fly which lives a mere 24 hours feel as though it only lives for 24 hours? Or do those 24 hours seem like an age within its own life?

Oh man. Thats a tough one. I'd need a sea animal. A turtle will do for that one. Maybe a shark. Next I'd want a flying animal. An eagle sounds perfect to me. As for on the land, thats where it gets hard. I'd love to be a dog or a wolf. However, I being a lion would be really interesting, too. Thanks for the topic. I'll probably wrap my brain around it for a while before I hit the hay.
