There must be away for the Co2 to escape ........... Some sort of venting system , or plain old fan them once or twice a day . Co2 settles to bottom . Good luck

Fanning is fun, it lets you see and smell what's going on in there. Just be sure to spray some lysol before hand.

What is a good substitute for fanning? Fanning is a major source of post birthing contamination. Where I was living when I had my cakes, they never made it past the second flush (total 1 ounce dry mush from 20 cakes ).
I thought putting a bubbler in would fix that, or at least help.

Like tripindicular said, CO2 must have an esacpe. Also like he said, a vent in the terrarium would help solve that problem, somewhat. But when using a bubbler, unless you incase it in a seal box with filtered holes to allow a clean intake of air, you are exposing your cakes to the same air you would be by fanning it. The easiest, but not the best solution IMO is to spray lysol, make sure no drafts, and allow the air to settle after the lysol spray before fanning, but this may wrong as well.

When using a humidifier system, you won't have to fan. Look for a Vick's Cool Mist. I have one that I'm going to implement soon. I just need to find something local that is configured like Anno's portable closet setup.
