Libert Caps in PA are rare.  Don't bother.

Gyms are out now and have been.  Check dead logs by rivers in forests.

Pan subbs are growing on the horse poo or in well-manicured lawns at least for a little while.

Bill Russell's book, Field Guide to Wild Mushrooms of Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic States, is pretty good for edibles and others.  Not too much emphasis on actives though.

Use our search engine.  That might help.

And welcome to the Shroomery.

The more often you look, the more mushrooms you will find.  Dung loving mushrooms sprout rapidly, 1-5 days.  Smaller mushrooms on wood do the same.

The quicker they sprout, the quicker they die (in general).

I look all the time unless it is dry as dust.

pan subbs in new lawns is where its at if you cant find any other mushrooms...

You are almost guaranteed to find them if you check a few new neighborhoods with new lawns  http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7008112#7008112 subb guide

Yeah, the deadly Galerina marginata.  Don't eat small Gyms under 2 1/2 inches wide at the cap.  And post pics so we can be sure.  Galerina marginata is a mushroom that will cause fatal poisoning.  Gym hunters beware.
