Parents
    #8808361 - 08/21/08 09:42 PM (15 years, 7 months ago)

I was at my parents house today and went to google.

Some cached searches came up like "affair denial" and "[city] marriage counselors." It weirded me out, because they seem completely fine.

I'm not really sure why I'm posting this, just wanted to get it off my chest I guess.

Yikes.

I've had that happen too, except my dad's searches were for 'brain tumor symptoms'

Try not to jump to conclusions though...

I can't see my dad doing something like that.

Maybe it would do you good to get used to the idea that your parents have their own lives and their own problems, and that they might not correspond to the image you have created about them and their relationship throughout the years.

Nobody is "completely fine". Plus most people don't share personal stuff if they think it will make them look bad. Down the road you will see.

Always strange to find out something like this.

My parents got divorced when I was 4, and I found out when I was 18 or so that it was as a result of my Mom sleeping around.  But my parents were always great friends after the divorce, I never saw any fighting or anything.

But yeah, it's a weird thing to wrap your brain around.

Exactly, what can you do?

You never know.

My parents divorced when I was like 12.  100% out of the blue.  I never heard them fight, they never argued, nothing.

I remember hanging out at my best friend's house hearing his parents bicker and fight all the time and thinking it was really weird.  His are still together.

A lot of couples are different.
