panaeolus antillarum  aka pan ants, not active BUT if you find ones that look exactly the same but bruise blue they are Panaeolus cyanescens, also known as Copelandia cyanescens aka copes

Danke, implee.

I didn't think these were active, BUT I WAS SO FUCKING HOPING THEY MIGHT BE ('cos we found trashbags full).

Some of the caps were half-purple, tho.  (Stems weren't upon, cracking; no color change at all...but the caps were goddamned blueing.)

Well if they are actually bluing then they are copes and they are active... Sometimes spores blow on the caps and it makes it look like they are bruising dark but they arent really...

Check for actual bluing on all the ones you found you might have some good ones in the mix

Panaeolus semiovatus is another similar non-active lookalike.

Panaeolus semiovatus

Ding-ding!  We HAVE A WINNER!

(Yep, that's exactly what one of the types is.  Sorrowfully.)

Thanks, guys.  I gno I'll find something to blow out the cobwebs sooner or later; this island (group of islands) has all the right conditions...just got to think like psylocibin, I guess...

Yeah, imp.  That is one of the macroscope differences between them.  His is an ant.
