on an anime kick..
    #8803584 - 08/21/08 01:35 AM (10 years, 1 month ago)

a couple weeks back i watched princess mononoke with a friend of mine and loved it.  she's introduced me to a few others since then and i've been on the hunt for more.

here's what i've seen so far.

-ninja scroll
-spirited away
-my neighbor totoro
-coboy bebop: the movie
-samurai champloo
-.hack
-nausacaa

i just picked up howl's moving castle too but i haven't watched it yet...

can anybody help me in my search for anime and make a few recommendations?

you should watch cowboy bebop the series
if you have good internet, this is an anime website my sis goes to for streaming anime: crunchyroll
*some series are subtitled

i haven't really looked for myself what's on there, but there's a cute series called Nodame Cantabile about music students that i'm watching right now hehe:heart:

:yesnod:

Greatest anime series I've seen, hands down.  And Yoko Kanno's soundtrack is great, really adds depth to it.  The only downside is it always makes me want to smoke a cig

Also, I noticed Miyzaki's Laputa, Castle in the Sky wasn't on the list.

hah i've been watchin a lot of anime recently too. i was never really into it until i downloaded the Full Metal Alchemist series + the movie. Just finished the Trigun series today. Both were :awesome:

Downloading Cowboy Bebop as we speak. Sometimes i catch that on adult swim from time to time. kickass show.

Berzerk, Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D, and Full Metal Alchemists are the only anime's I've liked so far.  I wish I could find more like them.

I have no idea, but I thought the series was horribly short if you're asking if they released more episodes.  I really don't know shit about it though.

Can definitely vouch on Trigun, Full Metal Alch, Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop.

Death Note, Blood +, Code Geass. Think they're all playing on adult swim now, not sure. All of Death Note is available @ Best Buy.

Bleach is > all.

FLCL is really fucked up. Excel Saga, also.

A friend of mine has a huge collection, but I don't remember the names of most.

YES! FLCL is a must see. Excel Saga is hilarious.

also, and i can't stress it enough, if you're going to watch anime it's best with subtitles as most dubs are just wrong and bad. Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Fullmetal Alchemist are exceptions to the bad dubbing rule though, they're dubbed really well. most anime sucks dubbed though.

Rurouni Kenshin (excellent series, highly recommended)
Berserk (excellent, gory, fucked up and full of win)
Death Note (excellent series)
Higurashi no Naku koro ni (fucked up awesomeness)
Higurashi no Naku koro ni Kai (more fucked up awesomeness)
Darker Than Black (yay for action!)
Tengen Toppa Gurren-Laggan (mecha awesomeness)
RahXephon (more mecha-ness)

if you need something to watch for a while:
Naruto (looooonnngg ongoing series, very good)
Bleach (another loooonnngg ongoing series, very good)

i'll think of some more when i'm not so out of it.

Trigun FTW.

Recently Ive been watching Fullmetal Panic. Shadow Skill, Noein, Ghost in the Shell, Samurai Champloo, FLCL, Hellsing, Rahxephon, are all good in my book too.
