    #8803465 - 08/21/08 01:03 AM (9 years, 9 months ago)

Saw an add for the Aero Garden.

Just me or has every weed smoker gone weak at the knee's seeing such an affordable and easy hydroponics set-up!!???

Sorry if this is more a Ethnobotanical Garden  question..

If its the product I am thinking of..... it looks too small >.<

Plus, I am fairly sure it is just a flourescent bulb.

“Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself. Think for yourself. It would be shithouse for growing weed, deluxe or not.

From one of those things you could probably pull maybe a quarter of an ounce of dry weed in optimal conditions and with blessings from the sun god Ra. Just double checked the dimensions. You'd get a fistful of stem and leaf.

But it lacks the right stuff for growing a decent plant indoors. You'd be missing lots of carbon dioxide and it wouldn't be hot enough for the plant to thrive.

The deluxe just has more fluorescent lights, which lack the red spectrum and are thus pretty much useless for growing.

Notice how they sell seeds in preprepared little tubs? It's because most normal plants you grow from seed in it would hate it. They probably use some GM taste deficient variety of basil etc.

Down with Aerogarden!

You could have put the entire crop into both of your hands. And after it's dried you could fit it into your palm. After how many months of growing?

Aerogarden lights claim to be full spectrum but since they appear to be nothing more than energy saver fluorescents I find this highly unlikely.

You'd be better off getting a Cooltube, a Son-T-Agro and making yourself a grow box using spare materials etc.
