pf tek, do i need micro pore tape, or is dry verm barrier enough?

alright, i'm going backwards.... decided to do some PF style jars, but i've got one question.  title says it all: do i need micro pore tape for the holes, or is verm barrier enough to stop contams?  in RR's lets grow mushrooms video, it says to put on micropore tape, but then they inoculate with a needle straight through it, and don't put anything else over the holes produced by poking through...

I use dry verm layer and tyvek under the lid, but the dry verm layer is enough.

The tape helps to prevent water entering the jars during sterilization.  By using breathable tape, there is no need to remove it-simply inject right through the tape.

You don't 'have' to use tape.  In addition, you can use tape and skip the verm barrier if you wish.  Using both provides an extra layer of protection.

alright, i ended up using chunks of my tyvek suit, what i've been using for  my grain jars...  i should have jus not used anything, going to be punching holes in it now, making it so i can't re-use it.  oh well, it was cheap, i'll just get another.  i didn't have any 1/2 pint jars either... i ended up using pint jars, been reading up on this, do they really stall a lot?  i'm just going to squirt a bunch of LC into each hole, hehehe.  how much can i put in without fucking with moisture too much?

and damn robanero, who is that in your avatar pic now?  those are some nice tits... another one of your girlfriends i take it?
