Would this be a good fruiting chamber?

im new to growing and and this was laying around my house, i was wondering if this could be a decent grow box or any suggestions to make it one.

My guess is no.  It may be hard to keep the humidity up to where you need it to be for cakes.  Cakes are pretty contam resistant when fully colonized but with that many slits in it youll probably get a contam.  Just grab a rubbermaid container from Walmart or Lowes.  Read up on the shotgun fc and youll be ok.

It could be.
But doesn't seem work the effort over buy a tub or two. You need to paint the bottom black. Cover the grating in the lid. To much air flow there. Plus it looks to short. :shrug:

I'd use it. If the slits on top make it too un-humid you can just duct tape them. Dunno bout cakes though, too shallow looking for 3-4 inches of perlite. You should be able to cover the bottom 2-3 inches in substrate and case it though.

maybe flip it upside down and put the cakes on the lid.  that way when the co2 sinks it will go out the slits. or you will have a pool of co2 at the bottom of the container.

You wouldnt need 3 to 4 inches for that small of a fc
