The cost of being a goddess

So Gillette has finally designed a razor for women with 5 blades, the Embrace. They were new a few months ago, so they were doing a bunch of advertising and pretty much giving them away on the streets and stuff. Which is awesome... cuz free stuff is awesome. So I used up all my free samples over time and got used to the goddess luxury of Venus Embrace. Really, it's the best shave ever. No nicks, like EVER and it smells like a fresh meadow AND it leaves my legs looking fabulous for like 4 days. It's amazing. AMAZING.
Except now I have to buy refills and it costs like $25 for 4 cartridges. It's robbery, but gillette is the only company that makes razors for women with 5 blades (and a moisturizing strip on the top & bottom)
So I can pay exorbitant amounts of money to feel like a fabulous goddess, or I can cheap out and get the regular Venus refills with three blades and are considerably more sucky and give me razor burn and cuts from time to time.

good thing you gave a consumer report about it...i was wondering when i'll actually use it since most of the time i just epilate or get waxed

My 5 blade razor is still on the same blade for 2+ years For some reason it's not getting duller.. I'll never go back to hacking away at my beard with a disposable again.

Yeah $25 for 4 cartridges is insane. That's gotta be a huge margin. It probably only cost about 15 cents a piece to make.

Hey Bom.
I'm sorry you're a slave to the razor.
Fuck that noise.
My mom owns a laser hair removal business. Come visit us in MA and get your hairs zapped off for freeeee! :P
P.S. You're a goddess whether you're fuzzy or not.

I've gotten used to using electric clippers to shave my face. I just put it on the closest setting and buzz away. It's so much faster and less hassle than using water, cream, razor, etc. and it seems a lot of chicks nowadays like it just a lil scruffy.
Unfortunately not as easy for the females, but it's always worth the effort, I love me some baby-ass smooth legs.

I need to shave 4 times a week and have managed to squeak by using 1 blade a week.
I use a mach 3. More blades then that and I find that the razor head is too big and bulky to get into the small crevices of my face.
It might sound silly, but if you buy in bulk and from ebay the cost of blades can be cut in half.

How is this even possible? You don't get crazy razor burn? I don't get it?

Same here. I rarely shave with an actual razor.

Personally, I would rather save myself the embarrasment of getting arrested over some razor blade refills.
When I was 16 I was arrested for stealing a Bob Dylan CD and all the cops and the store owner were like "I hope your $15 CD is worth all this mess" and the all loled at me. I learned my lesson.

They have a razor sharpening device that I've seen on the T.V. Can't say for sure about the legitimacy of this device because I don't shave, yay for native American blood and glowing very little hair. Anyway, you could probably find it at Wal-Greens, they usually have a "As Seen on T.V.!" section.

I used to get crazy razor burn under my chin because I was shaving the wrong way for years, but now since I go WITH the grain it doesn't happen anymore.
I guess I might just be adjusting to it or something. I bet I'll notice a huge difference though when I do replace the blade.

Yeah, I just remembered this and was about to recommend it. I can't vouch for it either, but if it does what it says it does, you'll save a bundle on those razors.
