Ok so our jar has 2 spots of mycelium growing... oposite sides.
i'm guessing the cambodian got a headstart..... since it's suppose to be a fast colonizer.
no signs of growth on the other 2 sides where i "think" mexi-albino was inoculated.
pics will be up soon.
EDIT: I took pics with my phone and put them on my memory card but I can't find the adapter for my memory card to put in my computer. Once I find it i'll post pics. The pictures include: Our incubator, The multi-strain jar, Mexi-Albino LC, & Cambodian LC.

Here are some pics I took with my phone.
The temp in the incubator is 83F.
Mycelium growth showing after 4 days in Mexi-Albino..
nothing really in Cambodian LC . not that I can notice.

it looks like a contam but it could just be the blurry pics. Do you have a real camera? myc is one thing where blurry pics won't tell the truth rightly.

don't worry bout contams if its your first time its probably mycelium. i went a good week thinking my jars were infected but they weren't.

You better worry about contamination. That's too small a container and CO2 will build up in it really fast, choking off the mycelium. In addition, 83F is too hot, since mycelium slows down at any temp of 83F and above, and it's always 2F to 5F warmer inside the jars. Don't heat above 80F if you feel you need to heat at all, which you don't.
You can't hold a camera in one hand and a jar in the other and expect a good picture. There's too much movement in your arms, and having both arms moving really blurs the picture. Put the jar down and rest the camera on a book or something.
There's no way to tell from a blurry picture if it's mold or not.

well today gary went home and informed me that the jar myceleum grew now its double sized both strains are growing i think thats what he said also our LC's have sum activity im pretty sure he will upload sum pics so u all can see

here are pics of 2 sides of the jar. 2 inoculation holes right across from each other.
the other 2 sides have smaller spots of mycelium growing. i'm guessing that's Mexi-Albino.
Cambodian must be the bigger spots. Since it's a fast colonizer.
NOTE: I couldn't get a good picture of the LC's. I'll get some up later.
oh yeah it's been 6 days since inoculation and all that. for LC's and the jar.
we started on the 19th it's the 25th.

BTW when it gets that the 2 colonizing points meet you may find that rather than meld they fight each other and ruin your cakes assuming they are different strains like the thread title says.

There's not a single shred of evidence to support that.
'Strain' is similar to 'race' or 'breed' in animals. You're saying if a german shepard mates with a rotweiller the genes are going to fight and ruin the litter? How about if a man from florida mates a woman from texas? The kid is going to fight with his own genes and abort? I've been growing mushrooms for over 35 years and am still waiting to see my first mycelium fight. Don't repeat nonsense just because some other noob repeated it before. These silly myths are hard to kill.

today we went out in the field again and checked out our spot and found 7 pans growing in 1 shit.
they're still small we left them to grow and we will check them out later tonight or tomorrow afternoon or morning.
