So I finally found a song I was searching for a loong time. It's a real rarity, but here's the deal. I got two versions of it. One is 192kbps and the other - 320kbps. I checked the audio spectrum in EAC and it looks kind of weird.
Here's the spectral view of 192 kbps version:

And here's the 320 kbps version:

Is it just me or does the 320 kbps version look like a transcode? I'd be grateful if someone here who really is into digital audio stuff could shed some light on this.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm... what happens if you make a 192kbps and 320kbps mp3 from a track from a cd? Do they look that similar?

I'm by no means an expert, but what I am looking at is the lowpass cutoff of the 320 kbps version. It is hard to tell, because you cut off the scale, but if the cutoff is extreme, then it is probably a transcode. If the scales (on the vertical axis) are the same, then there is a lot more information in the 192kbps in the high frequency range which would indicate that the 320kbps was transcoded from an even lower quality source.

a zoomed in look is really necessary to tell for sure what is going on with the track. zoom in so u can see about 6 beats across the screen and i'll tell u what going on.
edit: i will also need to see an analysis done by mr. questionman so we can be sure that the bitrates u think they are, are their real bit rates and not a rough estimate made by right clicking properties in windows.
