It's not a problem. It's Aerial Rhizomorphic Mycelia, it's a good thing

Keep on keeping on man, and you should have some decent mush soon enough : ]

Actually yes! lol its great to know nothing is wrong with these but truthfull these little guys took forever it seemed to get 100% colonized atleast a month even though i had them in the right temp.
woke up this morning looked over and seen little mushies(pins) i got so excited haha :-)

now when you say keep pinning triggers in mind what do you mean i got them sitting in my room with indirect sunlight and have been misting em with h20/h202 mix

It is not always a good thing. I have had some cakes that only grew aerial rhizo. If your cakes have a whole lot, like it is all over the cake, I would recommend scraping it off. It really worked for me, the cake started knotting instead of rhizo growth and soon after had an amazing pin set. Try it on a cake if you are having trouble, and if it works, do it to all of them. Good luck!!!

cut out the h202, mycelium is strong enough to fight off contams, and the h202 injures the mycelium as well.

pinning triggers- fae = fresh air exchange. ie:fanning[reduction of c02 buildup] 12\12 bright light cycles. daylight 23w compact flourescents work well. High humidity and some say a slight drop in temp. there are others dealing with bacteria and such. worth a searchread right?

I wouldn't suggest scraping them... In my personal experience ive found that the larger patches of rhizo growth sticking out of the cake often turn into clusters of pins if you just leave them alone... as a matter of fact i might be able to get a pic of exactly that happening right now on a small casing
