cause and effect is simply an illusion

Can you expansiate on that?

Did he lump it in with the illusion of linear time?

Who says cause and effect can not also exist out of linear space time sequencing and linear perception?

What is an example of something changing form without a cause of movement?

Why would cause and effect contribute to human suffering?

It can be and is the pinical for human empowerment and understanding the way I see it.

Cause and effect is merely a construct in our mind.  Think about it: if you say event A causes event B, what do you really mean?  All this says is that in the past, whenever you've observed event A, event B has taken place immediately after.  But this is an association, not cause and effect.  Just because the Sun has risen for millions of years does not infer that the Sun will rise tomorrow--we only assume so based on force of habit and the general tendency of the Universe to be consistent.  But in the end, making a logical inference from cause to effect is folly since all we can ever know is the mere constant conjunction of two spatiotemporally contiguous events, which proves nothing more than a past correlation.  Inductive reasoning in this sense is the perfect example of circular logic: why do we predict that event B will happen?  Because everytime event A happened in the past, event B followed.  But this says nothing about what will happen this time we see event A.

And I'm not sure if you were talking to me when you ask why cause and effect would contribute to human suffering... my point was that when we don't inquire as to the causes of our actions and why we're here (taking cause in the pragmatic sense, as opposed to the illusory philosophical sense), then we're doomed to be led around by our noses like the unquestioning sheep that we are.
