Help With Ps. Cubensis - Z-Strain
    #8794786 - 08/19/08 11:39 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

OK I'm new to the whole post thing but I need some help. My friend is growing some Ps. Cubensis - Z-Strain and his jars all fully colonized then he put them in the fruiting chamber and they started to grow pinheads and then those grew to about 2 inches and just stopped. The mushroom stems are very thin and white at the base but fading to brown at the top.
So i guess my question is is this normal or did something go wrong and if so is there anything he can do so save them?

I'd start over with spores from a reputable vendor.  Those aren't cubensis.

I have never done a spore print. How is it performed and when its done how does it help to identify the mushrooms?

That picture is on Lil' Shop's Z-Strain page. That's a pretty dirty scheme, sending wrong syringes and stealing a reputable vendor's work, if that's what happened.

My first thought was kill that thing before it bites someone in the face, and gives them a disease. WTF is that?  Someone would probably think it's a dead kitten if you put it on their doorstep.

I wonder if it's even possible to do a print on those little things...
