I'll be voting 3rd party, but that isn't really any consolation. Anyone else feel disenfranchised with our options? How the fuck are we supposed to feel about voting when the only candidates who can win are douches and turds?

I might change my mind, but I think I'm voting 3rd party out of spite for this country's two party fixation. It just aggravates me and makes me not want to participate at all, but I have a vote so I might as well use it some way. I'm tired of choosing "the lesser of two evils." What windbags.
WINDBAGS, I'm telling you. I just wish they would shut up and stop trying to sell themselves to me by pretending to care. Every smile I see from those two main candidates looks absolutely staged and doesn't go deeper then the surface. In fact, what lies beneath those leering grins is something I'd rather not even consider, since I already know from past experience that candidates will say anything to be elected into power.
Just bullshit.

Good for you voting third party.
Conspiratorial nutbags aside, things are the way they are cuz people want them that way. They bitch, but then vote for their preselected choices. I see no reason why we shouldn't have runoff voting, a'la nader's advocacy, and let people vote for their first choices.
I am optimistic with teh internet that many more people will start voting for unconventional candidates. Those who are sick of federal intervention in every facet of our lives and huge deficits and taxes that go to bullshit projects may eventually have more choice.
Just look at ron paul, I was really happy to see how much support he got.
All it will take is for the third parties to start getting something like 10% of the vote and you'll see the mainstream politicians, who are neck and neck usually with the opposite party, start to cater to folks who don't like taxes for bullshit, drug wars, and other nonsense.
I'll also vote third party- libertarian candidates are probably the future for me in all presidential and gubernatorial elections as well as any other races in which any semblance of one runs 
But I could care less, vote green if your a hippy, socialist if your a commie, whatever. Just don't vote for McCain or Obama unless you actually agree they are the best of the candidates out there for you... otherwise you're just supporting the system that you are unhappy with.
The news will follow the voters' interests. Then the sheep will follow.

What you actually think the president has the power to change a country?
Theres so many different groups in power and so many different issues behind the scenes. Your voting is not going to affect anything that matters. Thats no conspiracy. Thats plain to see.

I don't mind the two party system. When there are multiple parties coalitions are formed and its a de facto two party system anyway.
Forget the parties, they obscure the fact that you do have real choice. It doesn't matter if the ballot has a bunch of R's and D's only, or if there are also some S's and L's.... doesn't change anything. People are people, in America we vote for people not parties. You have a few hundred million people to choose from when you vote, having two parties versus 3 or 4 or 100 doesn't change that.

Revolution.
Become a leader. Get enough peoples backing. That ain't easy though when the big powers already control the money supply (money=survival credits) and know exactly how to sway mass opinion through media. They use dirty tactics against people who try to start revolutions, ever heard of Abbie Hoffman?

i don't vote, i won't vote, not until the electoral college is left behind. if you guys want to blame anything in the last 4 years, blame it on the electoral college, they are the reason bush was president the 2nd time. kerry won the popular vote in 04, but bush won the college. the public voted democrat in 04 and got a republican president, see the problem??

But on a serious note, you want to effect positive change. Hold elections on a yearly basis for the house, congress, and President. And add a third option to the voting process where not only could you vote someone out of office, but if over 30% vote for it you take the politician out in the middle of a public square and shoot them in the head. That would clear out a lot of the dead weight in Washington quickly.
I also think nothing would be more healing to this country's psyche and soul than the current President being executed for treason live on television.
