Valley drug agents seize pounds of pure methamphetamine ice
August 18, 2008 - waff.com



Drug agents from three Valley counties seized weapons and thousands of dollars in cash and drugs in a weekend raid.

They busted up one of the major meth suppliers in our area.

A home in Kilpatrick apparently served as the cut and distribution point.

Three men were caught trying to unload a dangerous delivery to that home.

Six pounds of pure un-cut methamphetamine ice.

Pure poison in the eyes of DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris.

"It's pure. It's probably some of the best grade that I've ever seen," Harris said.

The ice was seized Friday in a multi-agency raid, along with three loaded guns, bullets and nearly $10,000 cash.

"Almost six pounds of meth, I mean that's a lot of weight," Harris said. "That's a lot of dope off the street, not just Blount County, Marshall County or DeKalb County. Anywhere it would be major."

The drug world's economy took a major hit this weekend, with a half a million dollars of some of the purest methamphetamine ice, this area's ever seen.

"I just expect this out of them everyday, getting dope off the street. That's what we're here for," said David Chandler of the Marshall County Drug Enforcement Unit.

"Of course this shows you what kind of methamphetamine is in this area."

Carlos Arellano of Marina, Florida and Pedro Vargas and Rodolfo Chavez of Albertville are charged with distribution of a controlled substance and trafficking.

They're being held at the DeKalb County jail. No bond has been set.

"This is something that we're working on all the time, trying to get to the bigger guys," Chandler said. "And this is the one time we got to the bigger guys."

The investigation continues and Sheriff Harris says he hopes this bust will lead to bigger operations in the near future.

ohh 6 pounds out of the hundreds that come from Mexico everyday. good work detectives. way to spend my tax money. i wonder if anybody got rapped or murdered why this investigation was underway. i bet so.

(in related news the neighborhood pharmacy was allowed to continue selling various amphetamines unmolested with no complaints from the police)

Ha, I hear you man.  They're even allowed to continue selling desoxyn, or pure pharmaceutical grade methamphetamine for the laymen.

Did anyone see the new Intervention last night?

Well, it was called Meth Mountain, and it was about the same county that this meth bust was in. Even have some of the same police officers in it.

I guess they weren't lying about a lot of meth coming out of there.

dude i could be wrong but im thinking that one is an older episode but i may have just heard somehing about meth mountain somewhere else and thought it was intervention...hell idk
