Which pressure cooker should I choose?
    #8793540 - 08/19/08 01:27 AM (9 years, 6 months ago)

For my last batch, I ended up borrowing a friends pressure cooker, but I figured itd be wise to invest in my own. With that said, I have a question or two:

Is it smart to buy a pressure cooker with no meter to indicate the pressure? Ive found this: http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAdLargeImage?AdId=66947914&img=http://kijiji.ebayimg.com/i1/07/k/000/7b/b6/9d11_18.JPG?set_id=1C4000

Its only 65 dollars, but Im not sure if its worth it.

On the other hand, there is this:

http://www.homehardware.ca/Products/index/show/product/I4082520/name/canner_pressure_alum_21_8l

It has a meter, but costs twice as much as the one off the want-ad site. Any suggestions?

a pressure cooker is an investment........put some money into it and you will reap the benefits of a solid made product.......just dont buy it cause it is cheap.....sometimes cheap isnt good!!

You can get the one with out the meter. It uses a weight(should come with one) and I believe it's a 15psi weight and that's basically what we use so I would save the cash.
