Habitat: was growing in Moss, fertilized soil, theres a little river type thing near it, but theres not always water there.
Gills: Creamy grey/white, no gills, looks foamy, with brown bruises (after picking)
Stem: Think, long, white, moss growing out of it i believe,
Cap: Looks like the head of a penis. Seriously, i actually nicknamed it the penis shroom. Orangish in color,
Spore print color: doesnt give one????
Bruising: Stem has VERY BLUE bruising where cut or ripped
This is #1 outta many shrooms i found, im gonna post another page with more of the mushrooms i found, we just got excited because it turned blue a few hours after we picked it and began taking spore prints.
Also, as i was writing this, and realised it didnt have a spore print yet, my bf decided to cut the cap in half, when we did that, about not even 1min later, the cap started to bruise slightly purplish/blue, as you will see in the picture.
And it is getting bluer and bluer as time goes by
Here are the photos:
Now in the picture above, this is when we split the cap in half, so im gonna explain this:
The part between the things that look ike tiny gills and the outter shell of the cap, that looks like a pure substance, started turning blue, the purple, now its in the middle of a pink/purple.
You have a Leccinum/scaberstalk. Perhaps L. scabrum or a close relative? However, I'm not certain if the bruising is a good sign...The edible scaberstalks I found last year didn't bruise, at least noticeably. Mushroomexpert.com mentions that some of the warm-colored scaberstalks can cause stomach upsets.
(I just checked the site, and it appears that various Leccinums can stain different colors whether or not they are poisonous...but red and orange capped species are suspected of being toxic)
