Are they OK to eat...
    #8792115 - 08/18/08 07:53 PM (9 years, 9 months ago)

...if a couple days after you spawned to poo you noticed a couple spots of contam. It wasn't trich but some weird looking thing kinda like really small alfalfa sprouts with tiny black heads. After a few days of a peroxide treatment the myc more or less overtook the "sprouts". The tray ended up producing a decent amount of very healthy looking fruits with no sign of contams in the casing or fruits.

Whadda you think??

Might have been Pin Mold, I think you fight it the same way as cobweb.  I'm not sure tho.

I've had a casing go to cobweb mold, and I forgot about it for weeks until I bumped into while cleaning my closet, and there was two mushrooms growing strong in a sea of green. The entire casing was literally green, I munched them both down, and here I stand today

Didn't get sick off them, didn't go to a hospital, and actually which another eighth growed in the sickly looking green so I couldve actually tripped  But, all the same, I would eat them.

Unless there's something on the mushroom itself, contamination will not hurt you. Ignore the old advice about the "mycellial network transporting poison from contams to the furthest reaches of the substrate." Mushrooms have no circulatory system. Water and food pass from cell to cell, but there's no river of misc. chemicals running through mushrooms like the way that plants transport water and food.

The bigger danger is that the contams may sporulate if they get out of control and make everything grown in that room more vulnerable for a long time afterwards.

I ate these

and I'm still here;)

I believe black mold is the only one you need to worry about . Shrooms grown in a sea of green are to OK to ingest .
