Trip Teaching
    #879084 - 09/11/02 11:11 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

I want to ask anyone if they are experienced in the role of "trip sitter"....
In the past few months a handful of people or so have requested that I take mushroom voyages with them, I suppose because they are looking for some kind of influence that may make their trips something more than just recreational. While all of my trips that I take by myself or with close friends are not recreational, I don't know how to act in a situation such as this...

I have played such roles in the past, and on occasion it seems to just come on instinct, like a higher power is just using my body to teach others. But this doesn't happen every time by all means, and if it doesn't I usually just end up journeying deep into myself, not really paying attention to the world around me.

My question is, is it a good idea to attempt such things with people I don't know very well? How should I go about creating more of a "non-game" atmosphere with these people? I want to help, but I don't want to become confused or lost in trying...

Bad idea, I have done it, never again.
I just trip with people that can handle it, and that they understand what they are getting into, and in saying that (very few friends that I will do it).
You just need one idiot to ruin your trip like I had, is not worth it. (Most people are not serious and mature for shrooms)
If they really wana experience it, they can do it by them selves.
Trust me on this one.

definately choose your "students" well. aside from that, ritual is a great way to get into the groove and make sure that it's taken seriously. it doesn't even matter what the ritual is, as long as the ppl you are helping believe it will work. also, there's a difference between a sitter and a "teacher". sitters are there sober to make sure nobody gets hurt (mentally and physically)... good luck bro and be careful...
