found this at the pet store. didn't have enough time to read the label but anyone know what it is? peat moss maybe? i got some wbs im about to spawn to coir, might have to try mixing it with some verm for a casing. just throwing ideas out there.

yeah.. that looks like peat moss..

if you are going to use peat in a casing layer, just make sure you pasteurize it very well before you use it.. this will help in the eternal fight against contams.. haha

Yea, go back and read the label.  I doubt seriously that it's peat moss, which would quickly contaminate with green molds if used as animal bedding.  I suspect it's coir.

i plan on going back to read the label once i get a chance. work and life has been busy lately. i saw it when i was picking up some coir and it was setting right next to it. just snapped a pic really quick. ill post what it is when i go back. thx for the input.

I'm not saying that is peat for sure, but they do sell it as reptile bedding. It goes for aboout $6 for a small bag though. So it isn't a very good deal. Pretty much anything you can find at a pet store will be cheaper if you get it somewhere else. They sell regular old bottled water for $2 and some change because it has a picture of a beta for an example.
