its 50/50 on this site it seems, ive seen a lot of peoples grow times where they seen growth in little as 3 days, and some where it takes weeks to take off. maybe you 3 day achievers can help all of us noobs by sharing your methods or tips, because im one of those 2 week waiters pullin my hair out reading other peoples success stories. im not asking for a breakdown of every tek, just help out the ones that have an idea and some experience. prep, jar size, hole size, filter, pressuer cook time, how much innoc, temps, tricks, tips, high, low, left, right, ect... whatever you did to get growth in 3 days, post it here. reveal the secrets.

well, usually the people that see growth that fast are using a liquid culture or a live mycelium transfer, either by a grain 2 grain, or a live tissue sample from a fresh mushroom..
if you are using spores, expect to wait anywhere for 5-14 days to see even the first signs of growth..
Myself, along with others, usually get quart jars of grain fully colonized in 7-10 days.. which is pretty quick.. you can get it faster, but some of the steps you have to take are kinda just a pain in the ass to shave a day or 2 off growth time.. for me, 7-10 days is cool.. I can usually go from start to harvesting the first flush in less than 4 weeks.. that is great to me..

AFOAF had growth in 3 days, and here's how he did it:
(1 part Liquid Coffee : 3 parts water) for hydration of the BRF 1/2 pint jars.
About 3cc's of innoculant per jar (AFOAF had a lot of spare syringes, hence the excited use of innoculant)
Also, temperature hovering in the mid/low 80's seemed to speed up growth (in the colonization stage) versus keeping them at room temp (72ish)
Thats the method AFOAF did, and in 2.5 days he reported colonization'
EDIT: As far as full colonization, 15 days seems to be the average when this method is used (Burma strain was the particular one tested)

hahaha.. ok..
well, it starts out with some colonized grain from my mother jar with my isolate in it.. just a pour will do.. then I shake it up.. it quickly recovers and starts colonized within 24 hours.. within 5-6 days, its around 30-40% colonized.. then I shake the jar.. then it finishes withing 2-3 days.. the shaking is essential because it redistributes the colonized grain throughout the jar, speeding up the rest of the colonization time..
it works very well with any grain..

very nice, im waiting for my rye bag to colonize so far its been 6 days and no sign of myc. and iv mixed the bag prolly four times since inoculation im gunna use this to spawn to other substrates too my advice to you is to just wait or get an incubator good luck man

dont keep doing that.. you are still waiting for the spores to germinate, and you are just making it take longer.. the only time you should mix it is after its about 30% colonized.. and you only do it once.. its the same concept as the jar..
just leave them be, and just wait.. spores can take up to 2 weeks to even germinate.. just be patient, and then mix up after about 30% colonization

nice..
to the OP.. well.. it just depends on what you use to noc it up, and what you are growing it on, given your prep was correct..

condensation is just a byproduct of a temp difference between the inside and outside of the bag.. as long as you dont have water pooling up, you are good.. are you keeping them in an incubator or at room temp?

ah... that may be part of it.. the heat tends to draw the moisture out of the substrate, which may be why you are seeing the condensation..

so if its say 85-90 f up there and its PESA myc. how long do you suppose it would take to colonize 30% and 100% sorry OP for asking questions on your thread

well, this kinda pertains to growth time, so this may help him..
85-90 is WAY too high.. if its 85 in the room, its probably 88 or so in the jars.. they need to be in a WAY cooler spot, because they will just slow down, and most likely sweat all the moisture out of the substrate.. put them under your bed or something where it is cooler..

Multi spore injection, 3 day growth signs. My Tek? I follow the PF tek/RR's Tek to the T. Only different thing I do is put a layer of tyvek underneath the lid just above the verm layer before I PC the substrate. I have seen many times that people don't agree with this method on here, but I have about a 75% success rate when it comes to inoculation of my jars. Hope that helps.

wow.. you should be getting near 100%.. you must be letting contams in somewhere..
it really depends.. I have seen jars take over 2 weeks to show ANY signs of growth..
