Outdoor bed *pics*

It's hand watered w/ a spray bottle because it hasn't
rained here in 2 weeks.

It's 4 pf cakes mixed w/ coir and dried grass from the lawn mower instead of hay/stray, and then piled a bunch of
big green leaves on top to hold in moisture.
It's so fucking easy, I don't think I'll ever let them back inside, not until there grown at least.

Outdoor grows kick ass!

Cyan pepper disolved in hot water and poured around the patch keeps the ants away.
And epsom salt sprinkled on the ground in the surrounding area to ward off slugs. Damn slugs showed up the day
it started pinning.

Fascinating! What region are you in? I'm in the carolina's and had some concerns about whether the high temps during the day and wide temp range from day to night would mess up my babies. Always looking for another way!!

Damn Slugs. The are really hard to ward off. If some slugs succeeded in getting by your "defense system" try spraying coffee. It kills the offspring and slugs that made it there.

Umm, its hit about 95 F since I put them there.

Actually, even in the middle of the day when its hot as shit outside, when I feel under the leaves right close to the ground, its about 75 F or so.

I keep it good and wet, so I'm sure that helps keep the temp down, and its in the shade all day.
It wasn't doing good at all until I piled the leaves on it.

the salt works great except the water keeps disolving it so its gotta be re-applied every few days, I am planning on burrying a bowl at ground level and keeping beer in it for the little bastards to drown themselves in.

Good tip though, its a pain picking those little tiny ones out.

sweet job, my friend..

next time you add the leaves, try adding some pine needles and some leaves that are kinda ripped up.. make it like a natural casing layer.. a lil vermiculite in a casing mix over that would work too..

Out door is the shit.. too bad I dont live in Wa anymore.. lol.. wavy caps are fun to grow there.. plus, they are very abundant. anyway, so its always easy to just transfer the colony somewhere else... kinda like a god relocating a whole tribe.. hahaha..

It has a casing layer on it made up of verm/coir/dirt/dried crass clippings, but your idea about putting ripped up leaves in it might help fluff up the casing layer.

The big leaves kinda act as my humidity chamber.

for sure, but what I mean is, add that for more texture.. you want to make it kinda rough, so really hold that moisture in, but not just be like a plastic sheet of leaves over it.. lol..

I didnt realize you made a casing layer.. thats a good step.. but yeah.. just tear up the leaves, and add some small twigs and pine needles, just to give it a lil more texture to hold more moisture in..

you are doing good, though, my friend..
