Hunting today, Id's anyone?
    #8787403 - 08/17/08 06:26 PM (9 years, 8 months ago)

I went to the woods today and found some cool specimens.
I think one may be active.
any IDs are greatly appreciated.

These are the supspected actives.

Habitat: decaying wood

Gills: white not attached to stem

Stem: light tan to dark, probably from spores

Cap: cream/tan with darker nipple in cented or cap

Spore print color: awaiting, judging by stem, very black

Bruising: No color change was observed.

Location: Picked in north-west Indiana

This is their environment along with some other random mushes.

Here's some more random mushies.

Thanks for the help!

Those are not actives, they are Mycena.  They are very likely to contain the mycotoxin muscarine.  They have white spore prints.

The next ones could be a species of Amanita, likely toxic.

The last one is either Suillus or Boletus.  It isn´t active but might be toxic or edible depending on what species it turns out to be.

That last one does it have a red pore surface? If it does avoid eating it...no bolets with red pores are good to eat.
