Coir substitute needed 4 coir/verm 50/50+calc (If) No coir, (then ) add [?]

hi there i cant get expanded coir anywhere within a thousand mile radius where i live. im just wondering if any of you genies have come up with a substitute for expanded coir, for casing a 50 50 coir vermiculite casing with 5% calcium buffer? wtf do i use as a substitute? Any experience, pics, links? plz ALSO DONT SUGGEST PEAT I CANT GET THAT EITH-er...
i DONT WANT TO DO A STRAIGHT VERM CASING. any help out there? tanks for anything.

Look, Cletus; coir is a bulk substrate, you don't use it to case unless you like wasting money. You should mix peat moss with your vermiculite. Peat is a valid casing. You can just buy jiffy mix if you want, it's pre-ph balanced peat/verm 50/50 casing mix. Just make sure you don't get the 50/50 perlite/peat mixture. You can always add some lime to regular sphagnum peat moss, but I like the lazy bags(jiffy). They're cheaper than perlite, and 1 bag will case at least 5 monotubs.
