Out on a morning walk to see what I could see.....We had a few days of rain and the fields were flooded...
These were HUGE ...note my hand in the 3rd pic. They were found in a grassy field next to the local college..one of my books says these may be an edible? any comments? Toxicman, gumby, mr mushroom?

These were growing in large clumps on wood chips and compost...I thought they were pretty.

OH yes,  Your friend and mine......these were very wet and I had to dry them off for a couple of days before putting them in the drying chamber..

I really enjoy my little walks in the woods.
Keep on Shroomin everyone and be safe

First off, nice photos.

The first 3 photos are of a Lepiota of some sort. You need to get a spore print. I suspect they will have a grayish green spore print and turn out to be Chlorophyllum molybdites, which is very poisonous. If the spore print is white, then cut one in half and observe the bruising reaction inside the stem and let us know about that.

The next photo also looks to me to be a Lepiota of some sort, but one of the smaller ones. Some of the small Lepiotas are deadly poisonous and contain the same toxins as the deadly Amanitas, so don't eat them. If you want an ID on them we need to know about bruising reactions and odor.

You already know what the last ones are - they're a bit waterlogged looking, but nothing that a bit of drying can't fix. Nice find.

Happy mushrooming!

Thanks for the comments...Moe, NewHunter, ToxicMan..thought at first they might have been Parasol Lepiotas....went back today and they had been mowed down, the area where they were was very dark with spores but due to my awful color blindness I couldn't tell if the spores were green or brown,  just Dark...... :frown: The water logged ones are drying nicely...Thanks
