hey buddy

i have seen people us just drinking glasses and sterlize them in a microwave with plastic wrap to cover them. I am thinking of trying some old welches grape juice containers (Plastic with a snap on lids). just going to put poly in the lids and hope the don't melt in the pc.

for a rye sub i would use finch seed. always get good results.

best of luck

If you are carefull, any glass jar will work.

You can cover the top with tin foil & hold it on -- with rubber bands. Rubber -- rubber bands can withstand pressure cooking.

Worst case -- for filters use a double paper coffee filter under the tin foil & another over the top of the tin foil. Again -- held down with rubber bands.

Finch seed is generaly a mix of red & white MILLET -- used as wild bird food.

It is a very good seed for colonizing into spawn -- or even using as a substrate.
