Here comes the 2nd flush. He dunked the cake for about 15 hours.

Here's a picture of my casing. The coco coir has fully colonized and has started to pin.

It's kind of hard to see, but they're really small right now. He's having the problem he had with the 1st flush in the bag. It's fruiting again on the edges, off the rhizomorphic growth, not in the center of the substrate. All pins are on the edge. No pins are to be found any where else. What is my problem? Anyone have any solutions?

11-3 Update.

Here's how his casing looks so far.

Here they are about 8 hours later.

here's 3/4 of the casing harvest. It already weighs over 200 grams wet.

This is his 2nd flush off his cake. Some of it dried, some wet. He'll post up weights tomorrow.

thanks. Here's the last 1/4, actually it's more like 1/3. This was just a lil over 106 grams. Add that to the other 2/3 I got from the day before, over 300 grams wet from the 1st flush, not too bad.

Also there are a bunch of pictures missing like my cake harvest, they are all here.

11-8 update
Still waiting for the casing to recover. Sprinked more coco coir and patched up the holes that were created when he pulled out the mushrooms.

Here are his weights so far.
Cakes
Flush #1: 18.5 grams dry
Flush #2: 9.8 grams dry.
Casing
Flush #1: 21.0 grams dry.
Total: 49.3 grams dry

This the the 3rd flush coming up for my cake.

Nice going daussaulit!
I just got my first myco-bag today along with a mazatapec syringe I can't wait to start this growing stuff,it's always fun looking at grow logs and see basicly nothing turn into a shitload of something!I have a digital camera so I may also start a grow log but I need to get the bag started before that!
Hey daussaulit, how long did it take to see your first pins on you first flush, like at what day after you injected the bags and stuff just cuorios.
Thanks!

11-12 Update
His cake flush is over, for the 3rd flush he got 6.2 grams dry.
His casing has recovered, it's not being put under the light again to initiate pinning, he hopes to get a good 2nd flush.

>how long did it take to see your first pins on you first flush, like at what day after you injected the bags.
This is a grow log, everything is dated, scroll up to find out.

11-19 update.
My casing wasn't quite ready and when he misted it, the coco coir expanded more. He put it back in a dark place again to let it colonize more and then he put it under light. It's growing well. This is only a picture of a section, it looks like this around all the edges.

He dunked my cake and he flipped it upside down because the top half shrunk a lot. He thinks all the nutrients got sucked out of it. Right now it's pinning alot, maybe my 4th flush will be even bigger than my 3rd flush. He sees a lot more pins. He thought it was dead because the bowl formed a ring of ice around the edges when he put it in the fridge to dunk it, but it was apparently too cold. He's glad it's fairly resiliant and can take some frigid temps.

There's a picture of it a few posts up, you may have to change pages to see it. For more information about the dunking itself, check out this link:FAQ

11-21 update.
Wow, the growth seems to be a lot more impressive than my 1st flush. He did change up my technique. He started misting everyday. He made a bubbler system and it's on about 30 minutes 5-6 times a day. He also switched from a 12/12 lightning schedule to a 3on, 21 off. the growth it definitely a ton faster.
This is about 52 hours after my last pictures.

He's already had to harvest one.

11-23 update.
Patched the holes in the casing with coco coir and then covered it in another layer. The cake is going strong. He just harvested off 88.5 grams wet.
He'll post the dry weight as soon as they're fully dried.

He's back at home, and he's left my casing and the terrarium in complete darkness, hopefully nothing will happen to then for the next 4 weeks, and then he can begin my flush when I get back to school. There won't be any updates until 5-6 weeks from now.

1/14 update.
Well he's not so sure my casing is still alive anymore. It's doing something weird and has dried out a little. He's not giving up hope yet, so he'll see if it'll still do anything. My cake also has dried out but he is now about to finish dunking to rehydrate it. The cake looks nice and healthy. It did grow something though. Its a really weird looking mushroom. It's curved around, and the cap of the mushrooms is about the size of a small bead.

1/21 update
He thinks his casing is officially dead. There has been no growth and there's this weird smell. On other other hand my cake is getting fuzzy again so it should be going on flush #5 soon. He also looked into those saran quickcovers, it works soo much better than the other setup he had.

Before.

After.

And yes those are different pots, one is the original TC cake, the other is a KS cake that has been sitting in the bag fully colonized for over 2 months because he didn't have time to birth it until now. Not really mentioned anywhere, but he'll add it in to this log.

Wow!.. Those saran quickcovers look perfect for what your using them for.  I bet a few of us around here could even use them for shower caps..
