Fruits ! (Grow Ended) - Final Update :) (PICS)
#8749078 - 08/09/08 01:59 PM (15 years, 7 months ago) |
|
|
Here is what my jars look like at about a month and 5ish days after inoculation.
Alright I believe this is trich. Need a confirm please :< I believe I fruited too soon and they have been contaminated.
Unfortunately every single one of my cakes that I spawned into a FC looks like this.
Conditions - Spawned to 80F FC with sufficient FAE and RH is 99% (Florida) I even played music to them :<<<<<<<<<
Pins starting :>
More pins are poping up each day. I count about 70 total on the cake.
They really are beautiful.

Heavy water base. Which is why it took so long for colonization.

Casing would be awesome. I have never looked into it to be honest though. I dont think I have the right materials at this point. I have about 25ish of these cakes going.

This might sound weird but the bottom is water... well, it was. it's hardened to a rubber like material. It is definitely not contaminated though.

if you wanted, you said you had 24 of those things, use them to spawn to a bulk coir grow using monotubs, your yield will increase significantly. or make a greenhouse and use trays of coir, shotgun fc with trays etc etc all of these will increase your yield...

Yes, it was water that mixed with the brf and the myc. colonized it. That is also the place where the most growth is coming from ( The possible contam )

Most likely the "jelly" could be metabolites if it appeared after colonization.
I would spawn to poo.

One thing I noticed that is quite odd, is that the cake will spawn white dots (As you can see in the picture) in which the actual fruit comes out of. all the pins seen in the picture have come off a piece of vermiculite and not the actual cake. So I suppose casing your cakes is def. the way to go.

its cool, is the purpose of spawning to a flat casing to increase surface area? which I guess would result in a bigger yield.

I love your photography. I was a kid when I bought my 180mm 1:1 macro lens, not realizing it wasn't the sharpest of the bunch. I'm working on getting a 50mm macro for my camera. Can't wait to see closeups of my pins that are nice. Then again I need to stop shooting at like F4.

No, I think a cake might have more surface area than a cased sub anyways. I'll take 2 1/4 pint cakes and mix them in with a pint of coir, or a pint of grain mixed with 4 pints of coir. It colonizes in a week or less, but gives you more colonized substrate which = more shrooms. Bigger shrooms too. It's just tripling your yield without having to mess with jars and pressure cookers, or waiting.

They were colonizing for quite a long time. Also, I think the water content had something to do with it.
These shroomies were very powerful man, ate about half of that yield an hour ago. the colors...
I'd be happy to send out prints to a couple people if they would like a shot at growing these
