Try reading the Whole Grains, Bulk Substrates, and Casing and general cultivation sections of the cultivation FAQ.
Good luck. If you lose that grow, you're losing a lot. I recommend you consider using the container as a fruiting chamber and casing smaller trays until you have a few runs under your belt.

You could do it with 1 syringe.
But you better get 2 to play it safe.
You would follow a Rye Grain or birdseed tek.
You can lose the whole casing to contams....mickey is right.....you might want to make smaller casings and play it safer.

You could do it with 1cc!! 
You would have to colonise some grain, or a BRF cake ala PF. Then use that to spawn a bulk substrate such as dung or straw.

here's a tek
Recipe:
1.("black gold" Worm casings)
2.Wheat straw( You chop the wheat straw up and put in a ziplock freezer back and fill with water distilled water and let it sit for an hour or two)
3.peatmoss
4.vermiculite
5.Alder shavings
You mix em all together in a large bowl And bake em in a aliminium turkey roaster pan you buy at the store the larger the better. Bake for 1hour at 250-275F then after an hour stir it up and bake for an additional 30minutes.
No youv've sterilized your compost.
As for the exact ingrediant ratio its up to you.
Use about50-60% worm casings as much or little straw as you like use about half a bag per pan more or less
use about a cup or two of vermiculite, Use a decent amount of peat moss two to three times as much verm. Maybe less And use a good amount of alder shavings I believe they contribute alot to mush size. Dont us to much though you add the alder chips dry. Add water to your mixture distilled water till damp or moist not soaking.
You'll have to add more water to your compost after you sterilize distilled of coarse.
Don't get your compost too wet or it may not work appropiatly.
I thinks thats about it.

Yo Bro.
If this is your first time around  ?
With colonizing quarts of grain or bird seed spawn, pasturizing a bulk substrate & casing. Your taking a big step off the deep end -- without at least testing the water -- first.
Your Q indicates that your a relative newbie. You have to master some tricky skills to get to where you want to go. Not having mastered them -- first -- most often leads to massive contams  .
Start smaller - as others have suggested. Use that 40 gallon tub as a chamber to hold smaller casings. Try that first. If you kick ass -- kick ass again with a bigger load. So on & so forth.
Do you have filter disks & a big - good PC?
