Very nice, beautiful pictures!!! My favorite is the 3rd pic to the right directly under "Last but not least some Psilocybe species" those words. It has a whitish stalk and blackish small cap. What species is that? You are very fortunate inski!

Thanks shroomgatherer, the image you mention is an unidentified Psilocybe species from New Zealand! inski...

Are all psilocybes active?
Very interesting pictures. In what general area of the world do you live?

No, not all Psilocybe species are active, the two different species in my post are definitely active and potent! I live in the north island of New Zealand! inski

Hi Senor_Hongos:) It is an unnamed Psilocybe species that has not yet been properly described, did your find exhibit blue bruising? inski..

No, they didn't bruise blue and the gills weren't mottled nor was the cap viscid.

They didn't print worth a damn but the color was dark. I put water on the cap and it sucked it up like a sponge. I left them in the printing chamber for 24 hours but they only sporulated a little. They were growing on a hill of dirt filled with lignicolous material in a riparian system near the river.

They are very interesting, I have no idea what they are! I think you should try to make another collection and have some microscopy done! What was the gill attachment like? Nice find whatever it is! inski...

Thanks inski. I have been watching the area since the first fruiting. This is the only time to my knowledge these have fruited there because it is an area I watch frequently. Maybe the next time they come out I'll get a better print. I saved all the material so it can be looked at later.
Great thread though! I love your pictures and posts.

Senor: that mushroom just remind me of lots of different up-turned mushrooms.. i've seen a few like the one inski posted as well, though i just figured them as normal brown upturned mushrooms... some kind of Laccaria for instance. Didn't look any closer. As far as upturned-ness goes, this guy wins:
it's an extreme version of these guys (Hygrocybe reesiae, or the white version, lots of Hygrocybes upturn like buggery.):
inski: I love the Descolea man, the furry parts on the cap and the massive ring looks awesome... like the Tawny Frogmouth of the mushroom world.

Thanks UG. That undulation of the cap margin was extreme in the picture I posted. However, all specimens were somewhat undulate due to the small marginate gills. I am not familiar with this species.
