i have calibrated both my hygrometers, ones digital and the other analog. now when i did this, they both read the same. well when i put it in my fc, the digital one reads 99% and the analog i cant get to read over 85% with a cool mist/ ultrasonic and a fish tank heater in water with a air stone...... now i would think the humidity is over 100% because the thing is dripping with moisture and i can have the thing filled with fog in no time... however the analog one wont get over 85%. in my last flush i was using the digital one (which said 99% the whole time) and realized that i wasnt getting the humidity i needed, cause my casing was pretty much dry and was pinning from the sides of the tub. so i went and got that analog one, threw it in there and it said humidity was at 70%!!!! so wtf? both these when calibrated read the same. but in the fc i get at least a 20% difference between the two.

How did you calibrate the analog one?

i put it in a big zip lock with a cap full of damp salt for 8 hours. i didn't have to turn the screw, cause it was already reading 75%

How to Test and Calibrate a Hygrometer
1. Fill a milk bottle cap or other small container with salt, and add a few drops of water (not enough to dissolve the salt).
2. Put the cap inside of a baggie or plastic container along with your hygrometer, and seal the bag.
3. Wait 6 hours, then check the reading on your hygrometer without opening the bag (or immediately after removing). If the reading is 75%, then your hygrometer is accurate and no adjustment is required.
4. If the reading is not precisely 75%, then adjust the hygrometer to 75% by turning the screw or dial on the back. This must be done immediately after removing from the bag or container, before room conditions cause the reading to change.
If there is no screw (or dial) to recalibrate your hygrometer, then you will just have to remember to add or subtract the difference between the test reading and 75%, in order to determine the actual humidity level inside of your humidor. For example, if your hygrometer test reading was 80%, then subtract 5% from the readings you get inside of your humidor, to determine the actual levels of humidity (e.g. a reading of 70% inside your humidor equals an actual humidity level of 65%).

Do that and you will know for sure. This is the only way I know to get 100% accuracy.
If it doesn't read 75% then adjust to make it read 75%, but if you don't have a screw just remember how bad it was off and add/subtract the difference each time.

I would trust the analog one. The digital ones seem like they would be the ones to be off.
I'm really not sure though, and not sure why they aren't reading like they should...But they do inside of the bag.
I guess you could try posting it again, and seeing if you get any other responses. I don't think anyone is going to be able to really answer why it reads correctly in the bag, but doesn't elsewhere.

I'm not sure , but I don't believe you can get over 100% humidity.
