ID request please on MO fungi
    #8719270 - 08/03/08 10:54 AM (15 years, 7 months ago)

Habitat:
Found growing in a pile of mulch that I just applied around an oak tree in eastern MO this last week.

Gills:
Light yellowish, pronounced gills.

Stem:
Feels hollow, varying sizes--see pix.

Cap:
Tan/gold in color on top, varying sizes.

Spore print color:
Currently taking spore print...will report back with that a little later today.

Bruising:
No noticeable bruising yet.

Other information:
Smells very much like fresh mushrooms you would get from the store.

Thanks in advance guys.

Looks somewhat like a Gymnopus species.

Sure does, maybe its Gymnopus dryophilus.

Also, the spore print reveals white spores.

Anyone else what a swing at it?

Also, it looks like the Gymnopus dryophilus isn't active and essentially is a 'weed' mushroom?
