While I'm not convinced his method is sure fire, he is an "older" mushroom gatherer. That's gotta stand for something!

I usually dont pasterize my horse shit. The mycelium usually colonizes the poo before I get contams. I started getting my poo from a donkey. I bet that bastard has parasites. I cant take pics of these worms. They are so small the camera wont beable to pick up on them. You have to really focus on them to beable to see them. There are millions of them. They move pretty damn fast its amazing. The ones caught in water droplets squirm fast, nonstop day and night. Its so gross, Im going to boil any poo in the future. My Pan Cyans have still managed to colonize 20% of the poo. Its just so gross I can hardly eat a burrito without thinking of these nasty bastards trying to get inside of my body.

I have seen these once before and Im guessing they are either pin worms or gnat larve. Time will tell. I did spray the shit out of my poo with proxide. It didnt effect the mycelium. I sprayed it out of pure insanity.

Try doing a Google search for: Saprophagous Nematotodes. I'd bet money that's what you have.

Mycophagous Nematodes will actually eat your fruits! Yeah, It's best to pasteurize. Those little bastards can't handle it!

ewww gross, i dont think you should eat them period, at least you could exchange them for some of the green paper, that way you are alive to produce pasteurized dpoo and clean substrates in the future, imagine the toll on the mind in a level 4 trip knowing them fuckers are squirming about, clean, clean, clean brother! now i feel yucky, damn are there worms on my keyboard?? :crazy2:

I found this info very interesting.

"Most Pleurotus spp. (oyster mushrooms) are resistant to attack by mycophagous nematodes and some are even able to parasitize saprophagous nematodes and use them as a food source."

Look at the larvae pic it might be what you've seen. If you've seen any gnats at all, even one in your FC then there's a good chance larvae is in there.

Nope thats not them. I mixed up a batch of dry donkey poo. It was field picked. I broke it up added some tap water and threw in a fully sterile colonized Pan Cyan cake in an aquarium. The poo must have had microscopic eggs in it.

My cube growth was stunted last time but the cubes won and the worms died. Pans are not tough at all. I hope my pans win. I just cant toss it. Only time I toss something is if it has Trich. Trich is a hopeless battle.
