multispore is multispore, end of story. what about the existence of PE confuses you?

PE passes traits via multispore just like any other strain. It just looks "odd" compaired to the rest of them. The fruits from a multispore won't have the exact traits of the fruit the spores came from, but they will be of the same strain. Not sure if that answered your question.

-Do you get what I'm saying?
-An Isolate/clone is a recreate of a nicely shaped fruit. So they would clone it to make all of the mushrooms look alike... Hence cloning!

PE confuses me because i have read numerous posts stating that strain is bullshit unless you are talking about cloning or agar isolation, and when you start from multispore, it is starting over.
i had a post about a clone that my friend is growing wanting to know if prints from those clones would be good (fruits are quite dense). the overwhelming response that i got was that the prints would be like starting over.
so i am curious as to how syringes of PE, when available, produce those weird looking fruits, but a print of this well formed clone would be useless for the same purpose.

PE IS sort of an odd animal. But think about it. It's all genetics. When doing a multi PE grow, you'll get "mutants" you'll get fruits that resemble "other cubes" etc. When you print, all the genetic code is released in spores.
If you have blue eyes and only had a baby would blue eyed women, your offspring will have blue eyes, yes?
Same goes for this. It's genetic propagation.
If you'd take the time, and isolate out the characteristics you want in fruit bodies, and isolate them again and again, you'll have a new "strain." MS is like starting over, because in most cases, once it's stabilized, no one takes the time to clone and isolate again and again to assure the same characteristics over and over and over again.
Make sense?

sort of. my friend will be growing some PE soon. well, most likely not too soon, because agar will be used first. i suppose through those experiments all this will be figured out. i will be curious to see how many isolated strains from PE agar will have the PE traits, and/or how strong the phenotype will appear in the fruits.

Where's the forrest gump dude? His sig says, " Multispore is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get" But a colonized culture made from multispore will ususally put out at least one fruit that is worth cloning(for that substrate). It's always been that way with me, just never cloned any because my environment is not sterile enough and I'm too lazy to make a *good* glove box, plus I won't do clones unless the thought of a HEPA and Flowhood convinces me to purchase. Can't remember why I talked in the advanced forum either. Vodka ftw. You scientists keep truckin so I have good teks to follow much <3

well, so far, the clone thing is working MUCH better than multispore. plus, the cloned mushroom was huge, but for some reason, the clone fruits so far are rather short and fat, with an almost bulbous stem. and they seem to be less than 90% water. a 27g shroom dried to 3.5g.
hoping to keep this going for a long time. my friend has to invest in test tubes soon.

spores are like sperm
think of knuckle children (sperm) all of them are different and will give u different characteristics. like sperm, shrooms from spores will still have the general characteristics of the "parent". thats how there are different strains of cubes. a B+ spore will not give u a GT even tho they are still cubes.
