Am I ready to Graduate?

I have read in the FAQ that for first time casers they should go with just verm. But it also says that peat moss, oyster shell, and hydrated lime is a much better way to go. My question is: do you think I could pull it off with this more difficult casing?

This would be my first time casing but my previous attempts with the PF BRF/Verm. cakes was a huge success. That being said I feel I should just say fuck it and do it. Is this inadvisable until I gain more experience?

(but experience comes from doing)

The only way to know is to try it out. I did some peat moss casings and always got green mold. I never used the lime for it though. If you want something really easy, try coco coir/verm/oyster. Easy as can be. Maby try one of each and see which one works best for you, your bound to come out with one thats good hopefully. Just dont waste all your cakes in one big casing.

You are the one to "judge" when your ready to try casings.

Nothing ventured -- nothing gained

The Raccoon has had great flush's w/combo of almost equal parts ( meaning all of it was  just eye & handfull measured ) peat moss, coir & verm -- with agro grade limestone powder/grit added to adjust the ph & builders sand added to give the casing more body weight. All mixed & wet pasturized togather, cooled to room temp & used as needed.

Some was stored in a clean / closed rubbermaid tub for several weeks before it was applied & it still worked fine.
