I know this has probably been asked a few hundred times but here it goes, and I searched I sware I just gave up after reading about 50 posts. Should you mist the casings after it is fruiting if the sides are getting sucked up? I have been misting it with a hose connected to and ultra sonic humidifier everyday, I don't know if you really call that misting though. I put the hose to my hand and misted my hand for about a minute and it got a little moisture on my hand but not much at all. It's goin great so far though.
Thank you.
I love growin' shitake mushrooms!

Just fill up the cracks with more casing material and give the casing a good misting after the flush is done. A simple spray bottle will work fine. Im not positive about a humidifier b/c that is really some fine mist that comes out.

That`s not overlay. It`s just your mushrooms using the nutrients in the substrate. The more they grow, the more the casing shrinks.
