Plain silicone should work better, it's more flexible. (that's what you meant anyway isn't it?) hehe

as far as i know there are many different types of silicone. is there a certain brand or type? will it hold under high pressure cooker temps? like 20psi?

Use red silicone for motors sealing....
It resist at very high temps/pressure
