Cakes in a shoebox
    #8704240 - 07/30/08 08:25 PM (16 years, 5 months ago)

So I have just finished sterilizing my substrate and plan on inoculating them tomorrow. I have 6 1 pint wide mouth jars and have decided that the best place to store them is in my closet in a shoebox. The only thing is that there is virtually no space in between the lid and the top of the shoebox. Will this be a problem? The cardboard isnt actually touching the lid but there is maybe 2-4 cm in between if that. I know that they need air so this is my I ask. Should I just open up the box once or twice a day and fan? Thanks for all and any help

Just punch a few holes in the cardboard lid. At this stage, they only need gas exchange, (GE). :goodluck:
