So i found this.

Looks exactly like A.Pantherina to me. All pictures are of the same mushroom. Habitat: Under a fir, southwest washington. Stalk: light brown/white Cap: Brown with white spots. Gills: white and huge.
I have it air drying in my room just in case i am correct.

Maybe A. pantherina but I don't think so. I wouldn't eat it because I don't see any concentric rings.
I think the base of the stem of your sample broke off, it would be best to have it.
Here is an image of the base of A. pantherina:

And the whole mushroom:

sorry for the double post
Thats no double post, you can put as many mushrooms as you want in your threads.
The first pics are Trametes versicolor, nice pics of the underside, the size of the pores confirms the ID. Next there is an old bolete, and the last one is probably a Suillus.

What were you planning on doing if that specimen was a pantherina?

Air dry it then eat the cap. Ive tried muscaria and that didn't do much to me, really curious what a full blown trip would be like from muscimol/ibotenic acid.
Probably wouldn't need more then 1 since panther's are supposed to be potent?
I'm just waiting for the planet to reveal to me a fatty mushroom patch; edible or psychoactive, it's all good. I hear muscaria/pantherina taste good fried up too.

According to Erowid, "Ibotenic acid evokes entheogenic effects in human beings at doses ranging from 50 - 100 mg (Chilton 1975; Theobald et al. 1968). An equivalent effect is produced by 10-15 mg of muscimol (Theobald et al. 1968; Waser 1967)."
This should work out to 1/2 cup of dried caps if this trip report is accurate.
Caution should be exercised.

Always.
At the most that cap would have been 3/4 of a cup after it had dried. But its rotting in the woods somewhere now. underneath some fir trees of course, hopefully there were still viable spores, and then next year or whatever i can see what comes up.

I was getting fruitings from them in various places from July 3rd until just a week ago. Who knows, maybe you'll find more.
Good luck.
