In the tek that I read it says to boil in natural spring water has anyone ever tried boiling in nutrient rich water, or just tap water?

The Raccon doesnt boil grain or wild birs seed. He just soaks it overnight (or longer) in a 5 gallon plastic bucket, rinses & drains WELL, then jars it up w/filter disks in quarts - 3/4 full & PC's 90 minutes at 15 pounds  :grin:.

He has found that adding some nutient water - left over from pasturizing dung/straw & a little dry malt extract -- or brown rice syrup to the soak water helps the jars colonize faster.

Simmering grains is also a good way to get the proper moisture content for grains.
