Gaia's delicious manifestations
    #869392 - 09/07/02 07:53 PM (14 years, 2 months ago)

I think that all vegetative life (among other things) contains a small portion of the very spirit or life force of the Earth. Mmm, especially fruit... When I eat them I feel close to big momma Earth.

"Eat this to get closer to god!"
Maybe this is what merchants should start advertising?

Ever eaten fruit?
Ever eaten fruit while high?

in a recent revelation i realized that everything that has some sort of developed consciousness including plants and the animal kingdom i had once exsisted as in a state of being, this is where i think your connection is coming from, a pure form of consciousness, a previous demension of self realization.

Why must there be limits?

I believe that every molecule in the universe posesses intelligence, all i was implying was if that energy had developed some sort of recognizable physical aspect of intelligence, but then again mybe i just dont want to listen when the seat of my car has something to say, seriously, i had a long conversation with it on my last trip.

I have had fruit experiences that were quite profound in altered states.

Yet, what exactly do you mean by 'spirit'? And how do you know this is true? It is true that those things are alive and so in some sense they have 'life force' or 'spirit' but besides that what can you tell us?

See my thread about truth please and consider posting in it.

Cheers,

Well by spirit I meant life-force, the quality of something being alive... I don't really have a clearer definition than that, I mean how can you define spirit anyway?

And how do you know this is true? It is true that those things are alive and so in some sense they have 'life force' or 'spirit' but besides that what can you tell us?
I don't know anything is true. I only suspect things, and these I call beliefs or thoughts. And the most plausible things go up in the front, which make up what I view as "truth'. But don't misunderstand, I don't claim to know anything as absolute truth.

Do animals have this life force in them too? One could argue that since animals are more complex and evolved organisms they'd have even greater divine content.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you; I'm pretty much (but not quite) a vegetarian. I was just wondering how you thought of this.

I couldn't agree with you more, Adamist.  I've often felt this way when eating fresh fruit or vegetables.  I never feel this way when eating fried, junk, or any other unhealthy food.  Or when I am eating on the run.  The kind of eating where you are hunting for another bit to shove in your mouth before you've even finished chewing the bit you just stuffed in.

But when eating a fresh fruit of vegetable whose beautiful body has grown and ripened from the earth, I feel a very great sense of appreciation.  I just ate a perfectly sun-ripened tomato from the garden a little bit ago, actually, and had a wonderful taste experience  It is as if I am living more in the moment, become more in-tune with life.  Experiencing life taste-bud by tiny taste-bud.  I am a firm believer in feeding your soul, and I think that is exactly what eating and enjoying certain foods from the Mother can do.

>Do animals have this life force in them too? One could argue that since animals are more complex and evolved organisms they'd have even greater divine content.

Animals are more complex and evolved organisms?  That's funny because I thought that plants came around first.  Thus they have had more time to evolve and become more complex.  Have you ever studied botany?  Plants are complex in ways that we will never fully comprehend.  Perhaps they are of greater consciousness than us, but we are just too unsophisticated to know that?

I am with Adamist and Vibrant.  Every living organism--every molecule, or atom for that matter--is immensely complex and intelligent in ways that we can't even begin to understand right now.  We need to become more in-tune with this.  Become of one consciousness with all things of Earth.  Eating fruit is just a small taste of that

Namaste.

Isn't this the concept of the Tao?

I'm not sure. It's just a concept that I came up with that I am sure someone else has come up with previously. That's all.
