Covering up the jars with a towel?

I have my recently inoculated jars in small garbage cans with a towel over each. Is this a good idea, or will the towels cause the jars to sweat? I'm leaving my apartment for three days and need to leave the jars in the best possible conditions.

You should just be able to leave them in a room that's a good temperature.

Ok, thanks. I know i'm being anal, but this grow is killing my nerves :P. I have them in a closet, took the towels off. I'm going to leave my apartment at 77F. it's pretty much pitch black in there. Left the door open a crack so that it doesn't get too hot.

They are brf cakes, right? Even if they were grain you might not be able to shake them at the absolute optimal times but they still should be fine. I've left cakes sitting around without checking on them for days at a time. They're pretty resilient unlike other parts of the process ^^

The pf tek gives pretty large time frames for things to happen. Seems like they're SUPPOSED to be left alone for many days at a time. Even if mold grows cross jar contamination wouldn't happen without the jars being uncovered or unobserved for a very long time. (at least that's the feeling I get. I'm sure many of you will disagree, while some will agree.) And yea, they're brf cakes.

The jars do not ever need to be left in the dark. It causes no harm to expose them to light. ~Pixie~

I would recommend gauging the temps around your apartment.
Find a nice spot that maintains 73-77 degrees at all times.
A cabinet above the fridge is ideal for this.
That way the jars are at a good temp for colonization, and should something weird happen they won't overheat.
I hear of lots of people using closets with water heaters in them. I think that's crazy. A closet with a water heater is Hot to begin with. Let your A/C go bizerk and watch how Hot that closet gets.
Like I said, gauge a few different spots, check every couple hours, and record the temp.
This should give you a good idea of where to keep them.
Remember, just because the thermostat in the living room says 77, doesn't mean the closet in the bedroom isn't 83.
Good Luck
