Any ideas on this one?

I found these growing on an old stump by my pond. The spore print looks to be white, no bruising. The stem is solid, fiborus (roll it in your fingers and it looks like a rope). The gills are attached, cream-white. Smells like mushrooms. The tape is cm. I don?t care if it?s active or not just give me a possable name so I can go and look it up. Thanks!

Those look like Armillaria tabescens, the Ringless Honey Mushroom. Your specimens are smaller than normal, possibly they are young and were still growing.

Thank you. If I had not picked them my hog would have laid on them! He wieghts about 1000 lb. I will put them somewhere safe and mist them and see if they do any thing.
