Why does the mycelium need to stay in tact ?
    #869069 - 09/07/02 02:43 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

If the mycelium forms inside of your subtrate, and makes a network, why would it matter if the subtrate stays in tact ? Shouldn't it be able to be broken apart and still work ?

Thanks

I pile of broken substrate wont fruit well. It must be gown in and as a network. It can be broken up and let sit for 24h or so for the mycelium to recover.

reconecting the network requires nutrients that would otherwise be used for fruiting. It's fine to break it up, but don't do it unnessicarily.
