All practice requires focus/awareness/concentration... otherwise it wouldn't be practice.
The opposite of one is either -1, 0 or infinity.

Lol the opposite of meditation is not action.
It's like saying the opposite of a banana is an apple? LOL
Meditation is attention training afaik, so the opposite would be having ADD.
Meditation has it's purpose to improve your actions! Meditation without action is completely pointless imo.
It would be like asking. Why do people who do powertraining not also practise the opposite? What would be the oppposite of gaining muscles? Losing muscles. What would be the point in losing muscles and gaining muscles at the same time? You'll stay at the same point.
It's like saying, why do people who walk forward, don't also walk backward? Because if they do, they won't go anywhere at all. I don't really understand the point of this question or where you are getting at!

Good post.
People who practice Tai-Chi usually work with as little effort as possible.
But often they practice the same forms with as much muscle resistance as possible.
It is not the TRUE opposite of Tai-Chi... but it is quite a different experience.
I wonder if there is anything like that in meditation.

It seems that getting lost within the intensity of doing can produce a similar effect to doing nothing. When a skier is 10 feet off the ground, what's going on in their mind? Something I guess, but not much in the way of internal dialogue.
Is this kinda what you have in mind?

I really didn't have much in mind when I started this thread... no goal.
Like I have said before I was intentially ambiguous in the first post to get y'all thinking. I wanted to see which answers came to surface.

I know. I was just responding to your Tai-Chi comment.
When the meditation mat isn't cutting it, having some fun can sometimes produce the desired result. I'm not saying I know the rhyme or reason, just that some types of doing could be the complementary opposite to meditation. Activity may or may not produce the desired results, but the same could be said for meditation.
When I really sink my teeth into something, and wear myself out, I experience states of mind similar to intense meditation. The difference is that meditation is always free, and is easier to schedule daily.
I just got back from a 3 day trip to West Virginia. Beautiful countryside. Lots of walking, sitting around a fire, fishing, biking, kayaks, laying around whenever... very theraputic. I'd do it full time if I could maintain the perks.
