My greenhouse (pix)
    #8688284 - 07/27/08 01:15 PM (16 years, 5 months ago)

Has finally arrived.

It isnt full by any means at the moment. I am waiting on spawn to colonize.

I have my humidifier sitting a couple inches off the homemade floor of it inside of it. I have heard conflicting opinions on having the humidifier inside of the green house. I would like to avoid the crazy modifications to a humidifier if possible especially if I will have to mod one like every 6 months when it breaks down from back pressure.

Also for right now I am fanning for FAE. How much FAE is needed for something like this? Could I hook up an aquarium pump pumping air into the top of it 24/7? Or would it need more or less than that? I have also thought about mounting some computer fans or something of the like on timers.

I would like to avoid cutting lots of slits in it as some people suggest due to the fact that it lives in my closet and I would like to be able to close a non-warped door on my closet. So keeping the humidity realatively confined to the GH would be great.

If you are not going to use slits then I would go with an ultrasonic.

I have the same house and have slits in mine.

My house will maintain 99% rh all day long with a coolmist inside, on 24/7.

I think the closet will be fine. As long as it is opened a few times a day.

Good Luck

you better start to fill that green house up. whats the point of it if you only have 3 trays that could fit in a perlight fruiting chamber

i think he knows he can fit more into it. its called "room to grow"

he already stated he was waiting for stuff to finish colonizing anyways..

lol.
Yeah I am in the process of moving up in the world from casing casing rye to poo. still trying to figure out a good way for me to pasturize my poo efficiently. my PC only holds 7 quart jars, so thats kinda a slow going thing and thats the biggest pot I have so a pillowcase even would not be an ample fit for it... I might just break down and go buy an oven roaster like in one of the teks on here.

But Yeah I have quite a few jars that are at about 90% a few at about 70% and some I will be innoculating after the jars cool, so the GH should be rocking before long.

Also I am going to be moving it from that closet into a corner of my slightly larger personal closet (next to my cloths and stuff) when I have a roomie move in here in a couple months. If I put a few damp rid containers in the closet with it should things be alright?

Your best bet for using the pillowcase method for pasteurization would be a large Canning Pot / Waterbath.

I got one at wallyworld for 25 bucks.

33 quarts.

Any one have suggestions for FAE given the fact that its final home will be in a closet that it shares clothes with?

I can leave the closet door open with the exception of when I have company over.

To get back to the original question, I've been using the same tent for years, always placing my humidifier on the lowest shelf, and running it 30 minutes on and 2 and a half hours off.

No problems so far.

Good luck.

i orderd a greenhouse from a seller on amazon and when it arrived i put it together and everything was good except when i pulled the zipper up to open it the zipper got stuck towards the top. this was because the covering is folded up when they ship it and it put a crease on the zipper part. its not a big deal because it works fine and i can still access all the shelfs. its just that the one zipper wont go all the way up. it stops about 6 inches from being fully open. OK HERES THE COOL PART!!! well i emailed the seller about the issue.. i never got a response... KNOCK KNOCK!!! whos at my door?? ITS THE UPS GUY WITH A BRAND NEW ONE FOR FREE!! YES I GOT A FREE ONE!! I could have lived with the one i got. i was actually happy with it. the zipper really doesnt effect anything! but hey now i have 2 green houses!!! this just happend last week! still geeked when i look over and see i have another greenhouse! just thought id share! if anyone is curious what seller it was from amazon send me a PM. i would recomend them 100% im sure my story explains why. pretty frickin cool story huh :-)

He is talking about a timer. It may have been discontinued or the price has changed. That post is fairly old. I believe that site offers the IGS-011 Repeat Cycle Timer.

That will work perfectly.

I ran that exact setup for a year and a half, same walgreen's coolmist too.  If left on 24/7 mine would get everything soaking wet.  Anyway, just roll the door up till it's level with the first shelf and slide the coolmist to where the intake sucks in fresh air and the output shoots it up the back of the gh.

peace
