temperature problems need help quick

The temperature in my apartment is about 80 degrees. Im having someone come out and fix it today, but while theyre fixing it the temperature could skyrocket to 87 degrees or more for four hours or so. I just inoculated my jars, and the pf tek said that I shouldnt expose them to more than 81 degrees. Im wondering if I should run out and buy some fans to cool off the jars while the maintenance runs. What do you guys think?

I think as long as they are not in 87 degree temps for more then a couple hours you should be OK, the first thermometer that i got seems to read 5 degrees cooler then it actually is, the first 3 days after i inoculated it was reading 81-82 which is 86-87 actually, and my jars are fully colonized after 2 weeks. Once i lowered the temps about eight degrees though, the jars took off.
But if you are that worried about it id go get a fan or two, no sense in ruining your jars after spending that much time on them.

I have had my jars in higher temps than that and they came out fine. Somewhere around this site there is an official death of spores temp. I have seen it a few times. I belive it is in the low hundreds, like 102 or something I do not know the actual temp. Look on the search engine it should be pretty easy to find. Good luck

take em some where cool for a bit. i just hooked my buddy up with a syringe and i shot his jars up for him like 2 weeks ago. i told him to keep it in a dark warm place like room temp since he dont have ac. well long story short i called him up yesterday to find out he stuck em out in the shed up by the roof. so things could be worse at least you read up on things. my buddy is just a retard i gave him a cd of everything to read up on from copying and pasting thread. he didnt read up.
sorry about the long as story.
sure you got a buddy you can trust right.
ps make sure he dont put in the shed in 90 f weather

You should be fine. Myc dies from extreme temps in the 100's.

I can understand how a fan would make your skin feel cooler, but I don't see how a fan would affect actual room temperature or the temperature in your jars.
While the few hours probably won't make a difference, I think that sitting them in cool water would probably be more helpful than a fan.
