printing question
    #868740 - 09/07/02 12:20 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

I have an equadorian that came out of the ground looking like john holmes, biggest that I have had yet. Should I print this one? Is there a genetic thing here that I need to capitalize on?

most people would say yes. There's really no proof hough. mycelium is a tricky thing. connecting and sharing genes and nutrients and such

It couldn't hurt. I always keep prints from the best specimens.

It makes no difference. Spores are spores, it doesn't matter what specimen of the flush they come from.

The only time there's a diffence in what specimen you choose is in cloning, not spore germination.

I'll probably always do drugs, so that just contributes to the addiction to The Shroomery... It's a vicious circle of bliss. :tongue2:

I might notnecessarily be right but I`m still going to contradict that.
The concept of natural selection and survival of the fittest also applies to mushrooms.
If the mushroom grows larger it`s quite obviously the superior mushroom.
No doubt about it.
Sure nutrients might play a part but a larger, stronger mushroom by the process of natural selection should deffinatelly be gentically better.
So therefore taking a print from the superior gene pool will deffinatelly produce a superior fruit.

Just like with cloning of humans or animals or fruit, they will isolate the strongest cultures and use them.
